Attention All Writers: Please Back Up Your Data Files, You Will Sleep Better
Medium makes it easy
You’ve put a lot of time into writing your stories, but have you thought about what happens if a network or security problem prevents access to your files?
Medium has provided a means to back up your work. The feature can be found at the bottom of the settings tab: Download your information.
Hitting the download.zip button refers you to an email with a link to download the file. This is what you will receive:
Clicking on the icon, the contents shown below are self-extracting files that are easy to get into:
The most important file is the posts file which houses all of your articles plus responses to other author’s stories. It’s the largest folder in the group.
Once the file is on your desktop, you can move it anywhere you back up your laptop or computer.
