A year end tribute
Writing is fun and provides a nice creative outlet to a world filled with chaos and stress. It is the sport of wordsmithing, and it’s up to us as writers to carry the flame forward.
We depend on many things to inspire us. It could be tidbits of news events, weather, conversations, travel, food, or universal thoughts. The inspiration can only be shared if an essay, or story is created.
I had an English Writing instructor in college jokingly tell us that:
No one will read your stories if you don’t write them. Use the world for inspiration and let creativity determine your voice.
Her words have stuck with me for over fifty years.
2023 was an exciting year. It provided writers of all genres with numerous points of interest and a variety of different topics.
For example, shifts in the United States political climate dominated the news along with international instability. The economy continued to baffle us, with improvements one day and bouts of high inflation the next.
