Knowing who Hank Moody is, you probably know this essay is about writer's block.

Hank Moody is the lead character in a cable tv series called Californication. He has the worst case of writer's block one can have.

David Duchovny plays Hank Moody and is joined by Natascha McElhone, his ex-girlfriend, and mother to their teenage daughter. They are joined by Evan Handler, Pamela Adlon, and many other awesome cast members.

The world was introduced to Californication in 2007 as a cable series. I caught up15 years later.

The show's theme is that Hank Moody is a bestselling author. One of his books was turned into a movie, which thrust him into a world of fame and fortune.

But the movie producers went to great lengths to change a lot from the book, which had a pathological effect on Hank. The series uses that event as the prevailing theme behind his writer's block. But the reality is he fell into a rabbit hole of drugs, alcohol, excessive sex, and narcissism that he can't pull out of.

To help raise their daughter, Hank followed his girlfriend to Los Angeles, leaving behind…
