Great point made. I haven't researched the numbers, but it's possible there's no difference between now and fifty years ago. The difference though is social media is so quick to latch onto a death and then we see the same death on multiple websites. Compared to the sixties where a death would show up as a newspaper article, with a mention on the nightly news and that was it. Only a theory.
