I call it hitting the wall of retirement. We all have visions of what life will be like after the Big R hits. Unfortunately after the first few months of playing golf three days a week, fishing 2 days a week and hanging out at the local pub gets old and expensive. For me I've taken the word 'retirement' out of my vocabulary and replaced it with the concept of 'Living life on my own terms." Great essay Mary. Thanks for sharing.
