I have been a widower for almost six years now. Grief, for me, has been an elusive companion. I can't deny its existence, but I no longer care for it to be a dominant life force. While it's diminished, some things cause me to stop and take a deep breath, shed a lonely tear, and reflect on the past. Those moments last only a few minutes and I'm good for many days. Your essay is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
