I Just Binged Myself Cross-eyed Watching Season 1 of ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’
It’s a gripping legal tale that is probably truer than we care to admit
Tossing and turning, it was a sleepless night. Slumber was an elusive companion; all I could do was get up.
With a stop by the bathroom and a trip to the kitchen for a cup of coffee, I shifted to my oversized fluffy recliner. It was 2 am.
I broke all the guidelines for a good night’s sleep, but aging has changed my body’s needs. I’m happy to get up when some people are just settling in. I compensate with a short nap in the afternoon.
I know it is a bad habit to do things at 2 am, such as read email, turn on a computer, check the weather report, and, God forbid, turn on the television. My excuse for such blatant sleep violations is I work for a company with operations in India, eleven and a half hours ahead of us.
My Indian teammates are operating in full production while we Americans sleep. And then, as the sun rises here, they fade into their night. It’s common for me to carry on business at 3 am with conference calls.
We were caught up on projects this night, so there was no email. I grabbed the TV remote and selected Netflix; I noticed The Lincoln Lawyer was at the top of…
