I remember those days well. Especially living on the Texas coast during the Cuban Missile Crisis. We looked forward to the Civil Defense Siren test at noon on Fridays. And the sonic booms from fighter jets from the local Air Force Base. They were scary times, but not as traumatic or horrible as school shootings. Two of my grandkids are now in home school because of security breaches at their school. Great story.
