My Favorite Streaming Spy Thrillers: A Listicle of Three
There could be more truth to fiction than realized
Due to a variety of reasons, watching TV was never a big priority. That is, until the quarantine. I did not realize how many great shows I missed.
I had much to catch up on and used the lockdown as the perfect time to accomplish that. I watched hidden gems I found on various streaming services and read a few good spy thrillers when I got tired of tv. Memberships to multiple streaming channels are akin to walking the aisles of video stores in the eighties.
The shows I watched included Game of Thrones, The Kominsky Method, The Americans, The West Wing, Madame Secretary, Grey’s Anatomy, House, House of Cards, Modern Family, and The Goldbergs, plus many more, including food shows, movies, and documentaries. My favorites were spy thrillers and comedies.
Three shows stand out as exceptional. They are spy thrillers, for which I’ve been a fan since reading about the cold war in the sixties. They are available for viewing and are so good I’ve watched multiple episodes twice.
The shows are:
- Pine Gap — Netflix
- Designated Survivor — Netflix
- The Last Ship — Hulu / TNT
