One Thing Authors Must Do and That is to Write and Rewrite

Writing needs to be molded like a clay sculpture

When I was in college, I had a freshman English professor who was excellent. She was in her mid 60’s, full of energy and spirit. She broke the mold of what an English prof should be.

Her classes were always full, office hours never long enough, she was as popular as possible. Her teaching style was bold and majestic. It incited a level of excitement about the English language rarely experienced. Her influence as a Professor was on a pedestal amongst the student body.

Her mission in life was to mold freshman minds, harnessing their energy into articulate, focused individuals who could organize thoughts and present them effectively.

Her premise was that inside everyone is a story, with a story behind the story and a seed of inspiration. She taught there was an ongoing acknowledgment of influences that create the stage for hundreds of stories from just individual observation.

It is a brilliant treatise to what inspires writers. Most importantly, she showed the path to get ideas from conception to print to inform or entertain readers.

She knew good storytellers, authors, and journalists could look at anything and create a minimum 500-word…
