So many things about Petticoat Junction make the show ahead of its time. I'm surprised the TV censors.let it fly. For example, at a time when Lucy and Ricky couldn't sleep in the same bed, you've got three naked young women swimming in the water tower. And then who ever would have thought of naming a fictitious town Hooterville. Was that the inspiration for Hooters? All in fun, and yes, I had a crush on Laurie Partridge. Thanks for the memories.
