Without writers Medium wouldn't exist. But Medium is also a business that needs to be elastic to meet the needs of its suppliers (writers) and customers (readers). A change in leadership brings new thoughts, processes and a different perspective to the future. I applaud EV for stepping down, and am anxious to see how well Tony can establish a different vision and move us in a progressive direction. It's all good and goes well beyond the current state of publications. Actually it is pretty exciting to be part of. Every business goes through cycles like this.
